Meet Our Faculty

Jack Von Bulow, DDS

Jack Von Bulow was born, raised, and still lives just outside of Los Angeles in Pasadena, California; he practiced restorative dentistry in the San Gabriel valley for 46-years after founding Temple City Dental Care (TCDC) in 1976. Although one might reason more than four decades in dentistry or anything else translates into a certain chronological result, Dr. V assures us his physiological age lands him somewhere between 45 and 50.

Dr. V received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cal State University, Los Angeles and his DDS degree from University of Southern California. And though Doc sold Temple City Dental Care in May of 2022, he remains intent on continuing to learn. His practice emphasized esthetic dentistry, periodontics, Invisalign orthodontic care, screening and treating obstructive sleep apnea, and functional care including TMD-related concerns. And Dr. V. is determined to keep up with all the amazing advances currently happening in dentistry.

Dr. Jack continues playing a role in the community, working with Smiles for Life partner, the Foundation for Living beauty, a Pasadena organization supporting women and their journey with cancer. Dr. V is also committed to mentoring and presenting for Impactful Internships and the Health Science Immersion Program for high school students seeking a future in health science and service. Each student has an open invitation to shadow a day in dentistry whenever Jack’s or new owner Dr. Kyle Low’s schedule allows.

Jack also continues writing for the local Temple City Chamber of Commerce newspaper, Temple City Life, and Arcadia Patch’s daily online community publication; as a Board member, he also secures content for the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA) quarterly Journal in addition to contributing an inside back page commentary (AACA is the most productive Invisalign group on the globe). You’ll also find the doc on social media where he continues posting stories, reels, and photos on dentistry, food, and of course, USC Football. Jack has published three “Best of” books: Can We Smile? (2003), Molar Jockey Memoirs (2007), and The Most interesting Dentist in the World (2018), coming from 25-years of mostly weekly published pieces coming from the lighter (but opinionated) side of dentistry.

A turning point in Dr. V’s career was his 1996 discovery of Walter Hailey and Dental Boot Kamp. An epiphany emerged, “Teaching provides the best opportunity to learn, and laughter speeds up the process.”
